Hello again~ this section of the project will focus on the sketches I developed after doing my preliminary work on dissecting the song. I was particularly inspired by the color scheme that came to mind for the word "galaxy", that it, purples, whites, pinks, and blues. Purple is an important color to BTS fans as well. I also did some searches for images of roses, cherry blossom, and morning glories. Surprisingly, it turns out there is a Milky Way morning glory! Considering the positive message of the song, I knew I wanted to stick to a lighter/brighter color scheme overall. Still, other than knowing I wanted to incorporate purple and white as the main colors, I didn't make any major decisions regarding the color scheme. I wanted to see what came out in the designs first.
The other major decision I made was regarding the styling, that is, I knew I wanted to incorporate traditionally feminine elements. BTS already wears a lot of stage costumes like this, and I wanted to continue that trend. I also tried to take into account the types of styles I've seen each member wear in the past, and what sorts of things wouldn't look to out of place or uncomfortable on any of them.
With these things in mind I dove into sketching. Although I had a particular member in mind for each design, it isn't yet set in stone.

Now that the sketches are complete, I'll be tracing and coloring all the images digitally! One of my goals this year is to improve my digital drawing skills. Once I've completed the lineart I'll go back and revisit the designs to make sure they are cohesive and I'm fully satisfied. Of course, in real life I'm sure these design would need multiple revisits and discussion with the involved parties, but I'll have to make do with my own input for now.
Please look forward to the next update, which will be the lineart!
